Description:

A Greek "laterna" traveling music box, along with folding stand, early 20th century. The barrel piano plays a large barrel when cranked, and instruments of this style were notably used in "Never on Sunday", the hit movie. Numerous documentation accompanies the piano, with sheet music, and a description of its history from a previous owner (the laterna was sold as part of a benefit sale at Music Hall, Cincinnati, OH). It notes that the maker of the piano created the background music for the movie, and had passed away. Laterna has a maker's plaque on front, as well as a label to interior.

  • Condition: Some scuffs and wear with age. Laterna is in working condition, though needs a tuning.
