An impressive elevated planter or birdbath with figural detail on the pedestal. 1898. All one piece, in a mat green glaze. Similar to examples from Anna Marie Valentien from the same era. Interesting sequence of markings to the foot, including three impressed Rookwood logo factory marks, impressed shape mark "X254X," and then hand etched inscription reading "Bowl made of 259." 14.5" ht. and 12.75" diameter at widest point.

    UPDATE: Hairline to the underside of the foot that is visible through to the top / visible portion of the base. Some areas of crazing and glaze cracks near the base. Surface dirt.
