Description:

Two Rookwood perfume jugs from 1884. 1. Carved clover with gold trim, Harriette Wenderoth, shape 61, marked 1887 on shoulder. 2. Butterfly and grasses, shape 60 Mary Taylor. Height of each 4 5/8 inches.

An astute collector has asked why the vase was made in 1884 and so marked but also marked 1887 on the side. Truthfully, we do not know. Perhaps 1887 is an anniversary date for someone Wenderoth knew but we are guessing at this point.

  • Condition:

Repair of handle of Taylor jug. No crazing o either.
